Nutella Fudge with Caramel Walnut Cream Topping

1.Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

2.In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the Nutella, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

3.Pour the Nutella mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Set aside to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.

4.While the fudge is setting, prepare the caramel walnut cream topping. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, granulated sugar, and butter over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to simmer.

5.Continue to cook the caramel mixture, stirring frequently, until it thickens and turns a light golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.

6.Remove the caramel from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt. Allow it to cool slightly before folding in the chopped walnuts.

7.Once the fudge is set, remove it from the refrigerator and spread the caramel walnut cream evenly over the top.

8.Return the fudge to the refrigerator for an additional 30 minutes to allow the topping to set.

9.Once set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the dish. Cut into squares and serve.
