Spiced Maple Bacon Burger

1.In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, maple syrup, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

2.Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties.

3.Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

4.While the burgers are cooking, prepare the apple slaw. In a separate bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside.

5.In the last minute of cooking the burgers, place a slice of crispy bacon on top of each patty and allow it to warm through.

6.Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

7.Assemble the burgers by placing a patty with bacon on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a generous scoop of apple slaw. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
