Classic Patty Melt Delight

1.In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

2.Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty slightly larger than the bread slices.

3.Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

4.In the same skillet, cook the beef patties over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

5.Butter one side of each slice of rye bread. Place four slices, buttered side down, on a clean surface.

6.On each slice, layer one slice of Swiss cheese, a beef patty, caramelized onions, another slice of Swiss cheese, and top with another slice of rye bread, buttered side up.

7.Heat a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the assembled sandwiches in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

8.Remove from the skillet and let the sandwiches rest for a minute. Slice each sandwich in half and serve warm.
