Bacon & Cheese Puff Pizza

1.In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2.In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

3.Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

4.Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

5.Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit your pizza pan. Place it on the pan and press it into the edges. Prick the surface with a fork to prevent bubbling.

6.Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a 12-inch circle and place it on top of the puff pastry layer.

7.Spread the softened cream cheese evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

8.Sprinkle the chopped bacon evenly over the cream cheese layer, followed by the mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.

9.Brush the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden color when baked.

10.Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the puff pastry is golden brown.

11.Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
