Festive Holiday Mochi Delight

1.In a mixing bowl, combine mochiko, sugar, and water. Mix well until smooth and no lumps remain.

2.Pour the mixture into a heatproof dish and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave on high for 5 minutes, then stir well. Microwave for another 5 minutes until the mixture is thick and translucent.

3.Let the mochi mixture cool slightly. Dust a clean surface with cornstarch and transfer the mochi onto it. Knead the mochi until smooth and elastic, adding more cornstarch if needed to prevent sticking.

4.Divide the mochi into two equal portions. Add green food coloring to one portion and red food coloring to the other. Knead each portion until the color is evenly distributed.

5.Roll out the green mochi portion into a rectangle and spread a layer of red bean paste on top. Roll it up tightly to form a log. Repeat the same process with the red mochi portion and red bean paste.

6.Slice the mochi logs into bite-sized pieces and dust with powdered sugar. Decorate with edible gold flakes and silver pearls if desired.

7.Serve the Christmas mochi on a festive platter and enjoy the delightful holiday treat!
