Camp Green Bean Casserole

1.Preheat your campfire grill or portable oven to 350°F (175°C).

2.Prepare the macaroni and cheese according to the box instructions: bring 2 1/2 cups of water to a boil, add macaroni, cook until tender, then drain any excess water.

3.Return the cooked macaroni to the pot, add 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup milk, and the cheese sauce mix from the box. Stir until creamy and fully combined.

4.In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained green beans and the prepared macaroni and cheese. Stir gently to mix evenly.

5.In a small bowl, mix the seasoned bread crumbs with melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well coated.

6.Transfer the green bean and mac and cheese mixture into a greased campfire-safe casserole dish or cast iron skillet, spreading it evenly.

7.Sprinkle the seasoned bread crumb mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.

8.Place the casserole on the campfire grill or in the portable oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy and the casserole is heated through.

9.Remove from heat carefully and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the casserole to set slightly.

10.Serve warm as a comforting side or main dish during your camping meal.
