Classic Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie

1.Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).

2.In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and well combined.

3.Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, beating until the mixture is glossy.

4.Gently fold in the self-rising flour and salt using a spatula until just combined; do not overmix.

5.Fold in 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips.

6.Spread the cookie dough evenly into an ungreased 9-inch (23 cm) cast-iron skillet.

7.Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips over the top of the dough.

8.Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still slightly soft.

9.Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
