Deluxe Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Southern Style

Preheat the Skillet Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Prepare the Pimento Cheese Spread In a bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, diced pimentos, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper. Mix until well combined to make the pimento cheese spread.

Prepare the Bread Slices Spread one side of each bread slice with pimento cheese and the other side with mayonnaise.

Assemble the Sandwiches Assemble the sandwiches by layering 2 slices of sharp cheddar cheese, 2 slices of bacon, and the remaining bread slices.

Butter the Sandwiches Spread the softened butter on the outsides of the sandwiches.

Grill the Sandwiches Grill the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serve the Sandwiches Slice the sandwiches in half and serve immediately.
