Red Velvet Chex Mix

Preparation Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

Mixing the Dry Ingredients In a large mixing bowl, combine the Rice Chex cereal (5 cups), pretzel sticks (1 cup), mini marshmallows (1 cup), white chocolate chips (½ cup), unsweetened cocoa powder (¼ cup), powdered sugar (¼ cup), and red velvet cake mix (¼ cup). Toss together until all the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

Preparing the Wet Ingredients In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar (¼ cup), red food coloring (1 tablespoon), and vanilla extract (1 teaspoon) until well combined.

Coating the Ingredients Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients in the large mixing bowl. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until everything is coated evenly.

Baking the Chex Mix Spread the coated mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, making sure it is spread out evenly in a single layer.

Baking Time Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even baking and prevent burning.

Cooling and Garnishing Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the Red Velvet (¼ cup) Chex Mix cool completely. Sprinkle with red sanding sugar (¼ cup) for added decoration, if desired.

Storage and Serving Once cooled, transfer the Red Velvet (¼ cup) Chex Mix to an airtight container or resealable bags for storage. Enjoy as a delicious and festive snack!
