Preparing the Cookie Dough Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3.In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

4.Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the dough.

Baking the Cookies Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between the cookies for spreading.

6.If desired, press additional chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or sprinkles on top of each cookie for decoration.

7.Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. For a chewy cookie, remove from the oven when the center looks slightly underbaked.

8.Sprinkle sea salt flakes over the warm cookies for a sweet-salty contrast, if desired.

9.Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
