Creamy Egg Custard

Preparing the Custard 1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.

2.Strain the custard mixture through a fine mesh sieve to ensure a smooth consistency.

Making the Caramel 1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium heat without stirring. Let it simmer until it turns into a golden amber color.

4.2. Pour the caramel into the bottom of ramekins, swirling to coat the base evenly.

Baking the Custard 1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).

6.2. Fill the ramekins with the custard mixture over the caramel.

7.3. Place the ramekins in a baking dish and pour hot water into the dish to create a water bath around the ramekins.

8.4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until the custard is set with a slight jiggle in the center.

9.5. Remove from the oven and let the custard cool before refrigerating for at least 1 hour.
