Sweet Brown Sugar Crescent Rolls

1In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar (1 tablespoon), salt (1 teaspoon), and yeast. Mix well.

2In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk (¾ cup), egg (1 large), and 1/4 cup softened butter.

3Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.

4On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 6-8 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

5Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

6In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar (1 cup), cinnamon, and vanilla extract (1 teaspoon). Set aside.

7Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll the dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle.

8Spread the melted butter over the dough, then evenly sprinkle the brown sugar (1 cup) mixture on top.

9Starting from the long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log, then cut into 12 equal pieces.

10Place the rolls cut side down in a greased baking pan. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

11Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

12Bake the rolls for about 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
