Stuffed Cabbage Rolls with Savory Ground Beef Filling

1.Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Carefully add the whole head of cabbage and cook for 2-3 minutes until the outer leaves are softened. Remove the cabbage from the water and set aside to cool.

2.In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and garlic, sauté until translucent and fragrant.

3.Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Stir in the cooked rice, paprika, oregano, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Remove the skillet from heat and let it cool slightly.

4.In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef and rice mixture with chopped parsley, Parmesan cheese, and beaten egg. Mix well to form the filling.

5.Carefully peel off the softened cabbage leaves one by one. Place a spoonful of the beef filling in the center of each leaf and roll them up, tucking in the sides to secure the filling.

6.In a separate pot, mix the crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce with beef broth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Place the rolled cabbage leaves seam side down in the tomato sauce.

7.Cover the pot and simmer on low heat for about 45 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the cabbage leaves to soften further.

8.Serve the stuffed cabbage rolls hot, spooning some of the tomato sauce over each roll. Enjoy!
