Zebra Emoji Cookies

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.

3.In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

4.Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.

5.Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms.

6.Divide the dough in half and mix cocoa powder into one half to create the chocolate dough.

7.Add black food coloring to the other half of the dough and knead until the color is uniform.

8.Roll out the chocolate dough and the black dough separately on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.

9.Use a round cookie cutter to cut out circles from each dough.

10.Layer a chocolate circle on top of a black circle and gently press them together to create zebra stripes.

11.Place the zebra cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.

12.Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack.

13.Roll out the white fondant and cut out small round shapes to create the eyes of the zebra emoji.

14.Roll out the black fondant and cut out small shapes to create the mouth and eyebrows of the zebra emoji.

15.Attach the fondant pieces to the cookies to create the zebra emoji faces.
