Caramelized Onion Jam

1Thinly slice the onions (2 large).

2In a large pan, heat some oil over medium heat and add the sliced onions (2 large).

3Cook the onions (2 large), stirring occasionally, until they start to soften and turn golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.

4Add the sugar (½ cup) to the pan with the onions (2 large).

5Continue cooking the onions (2 large) and sugar (½ cup) mixture, stirring frequently, until the onions (2 large) are caramelized and dark in color, about 15-20 minutes more.

6Remove the pan from heat and let the onion jam cool to room temperature before serving.

7Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
