Jam-Filled Nutmeg Donuts with Icing

1Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a donut pan with oil (2 tbsp).

2In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter (½ cup) and sugar (½ cup) until light and fluffy.

3Add the eggs (2) and mix well.

4In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder (1 tsp), baking soda (½ tsp), salt (¼ tsp), and nutmeg (½ tsp).

5Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with water (¼ cup), and mix until well combined.

6Spoon the batter into a piping bag or plastic bag with the corner snipped off.

7Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each mold halfway.

8Add a small spoonful of jam (½ cup) in the center of each donut.

9Cover the jam (½ cup) with more batter to fill the molds.

10Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

11Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

12In a small bowl, mix the icing sugar (½ cup) with a little water (¼ cup) to create a smooth icing consistency.

13Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the icing to coat them completely.

14Let the icing set for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the delicious jam (½ cup)-filled nutmeg (½ tsp) donuts!
