Decadent Chocolate Cake

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

2.In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and espresso powder.

3.Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

4.Gradually stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth. The batter will be thin, but that's okay.

5.Fold in the chocolate chips gently.

6.Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.

7.Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8.Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

9.In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the powdered sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

10.Place the semisweet chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl and pour the hot cream over the chocolate. Let it sit for a minute, then whisk until smooth and glossy. Let the ganache cool for a few minutes before assembling the cake.

11.Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of ganache on top. Place the second cake layer on top and cover the entire cake with the remaining ganache.

12.Decorate with chocolate curls, sprinkles, or berries if desired. Enjoy the rich and indulgent chocolate cake!
