Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Cake

1Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

2In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate compound (1 cup) with the butter (1 cup) over a double boiler or in the microwave in short intervals, stirring until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.

3In a separate bowl, sift the all-purpose flour (2 cups) and baking powder (1 tsp) together.

4Chop the almonds into small pieces or crush them.

5In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted chocolate mixture with the flour mixture and stir until well combined.

6Fold in the chopped almonds gently to the batter.

7Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.

8Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
