Birthday Savory Pockets

1Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

2In a skillet, cook the ground beef (1 lb) over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion (1), garlic (2 cloves), and bell pepper (1). Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

3Season the mixture with paprika (1 tsp), cumin, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.

4Roll out the puff pastry sheets (1 package) and cut them into squares or circles, depending on your preference.

5Place a spoonful of the beef mixture onto each pastry square or circle. Sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese (½ cup) on top of the beef.

6Fold the pastry over the filling to create a pocket and seal the edges with a fork. Place the pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

7Brush the beaten egg (1) over the tops of the pastry pockets for a golden finish.

8Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
