Festive Birthday Canapés

1Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

2Slice the French baguette (1) into thin rounds and place them on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven until lightly golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

3In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese (8 oz) with the zest of half a lemon (1).

4Thinly slice the smoked salmon (½ cup) and finely chop the fresh dill (¼ cup).

5Cut the red onion (½) into thin slices and dice the cucumber (1) into small cubes.

6Spread the lemon (1)-infused cream cheese (8 oz) on each toasted baguette round.

7Top half of the rounds with a piece of smoked salmon (½ cup), a few capers (¼ cup), and a sprinkle of fresh dill (¼ cup).

8On the remaining rounds, add a dollop of cream cheese (8 oz), some diced cucumber (1), a slice of red onion (½), and a cherry tomato halved.

9Garnish the smoked salmon (½ cup) canapés with extra dill and the vegetable canapés with fresh parsley leaves.

10Arrange the canapés on a serving platter and serve immediately. Enjoy the birthday festivities!
