Cheesy Potato Onion Green Chilli Sauce

1Peel and dice the potatoes (4) into small cubes. Finely chop the onion (1) and green chillies (2).

2In a pot, boil the diced potatoes (4) until they are fork-tender. Drain and set aside.

3In a separate saucepan, melt butter (2 tbsp) over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and green chillies (2). Saute until the onions are translucent and fragrant.

4Sprinkle flour over the onion (1) mixture and stir well to form a roux. Cook for 2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.

5Slowly pour in the milk (½ cup) while stirring continuously to create a smooth sauce. Add garlic powder (½ tsp), onion powder (½ tsp), paprika (½ tsp), black pepper (½ tsp), and salt (½ tsp). Stir until well combined and the sauce thickens.

6Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

7Add the boiled potatoes (4) to the sauce and mix gently to coat the potatoes (4) evenly.

8Transfer the potato mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle grated cheese (1 cup) on top of the potatoes (4).

9Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese (1 cup) is melted and bubbly, and the top is golden brown.

10Serve the Cheesy Potato Onion (1) Green Chilli Sauce hot as a delicious and comforting dish.
