Stovetop Sponge Cake

1.In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

2.Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3.Mix in the vanilla extract.

4.Sift the flour and baking powder together, then gradually add to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.

5.Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

6.Grease a stovetop-safe cake pan and pour the batter into it.

7.Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat for about 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8.Remove the cake from the pan and let it cool before serving.
