Christmas Green Gram Balls

1Wash and soak the green gram (moong dal) (1 cup) in water for 4-5 hours.

2Drain the water and grind the soaked green gram (1 cup) into a coarse paste without adding any water.

3In a pan, heat ghee (½ cup) and add the ground green gram (1 cup) paste.

4Cook the paste on low heat, stirring continuously, until it thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.

5Add sugar (1 cup), grated coconut (½ cup), cardamom powder (½ tsp), chopped nuts (¼ cup), and raisins (¼ cup) to the cooked green gram (1 cup) paste.

6Mix well and cook for another 5-10 minutes until the mixture thickens and forms a dough-like consistency.

7Remove the mixture from heat and allow it to cool slightly.

8Grease your hands with ghee (½ cup) and shape the mixture into small balls.

9Garnish the green gram (1 cup) balls with additional chopped nuts (¼ cup) and grated coconut (½ cup) if desired.

10Serve the Christmas Green Gram (1 cup) Balls as a festive treat or dessert.
