Cheesy Spinach and Mushroom Calzone

1Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

2In a skillet, heat olive oil (1 tablespoon) over medium heat. Add onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and spinach. Cook until the vegetables are soft and the spinach is wilted.

3Season the vegetables with garlic powder (½ teaspoon), oregano, and red pepper flakes (½ teaspoon). Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

4On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough (1 pound) into a large circle.

5Spread marinara sauce (1 cup) over half of the dough, leaving a border around the edge.

6Top the sauce with the cooked vegetables and shredded mozzarella cheese (1 cup).

7Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges to seal.

8Brush the calzone with beaten egg and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese (1 tablespoon) on top.

9Transfer the calzone to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

10Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the calzone is golden brown and crispy.

11Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
