Molang Meringue Cookies

1Preheat the oven to 200°F (95°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2In a clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites (4) on high speed until soft peaks form.

3Gradually add the sugar and cream of tartar (½ teaspoon) while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy.

4Add the vanilla extract (½ teaspoon) and gently fold it into the meringue mixture.

5Divide the meringue into two bowls. Add pink food coloring to one bowl and black food coloring to the other bowl. Mix until the colors are evenly distributed.

6Transfer the colored meringue mixtures into separate piping bags fitted with a star tip.

7Pipe small dollops of the colored meringue onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.

8Bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meringue cookies are dry and crisp.

9Turn off the oven and let the cookies cool completely inside the oven to prevent cracking.

10Once cooled, store the Molang Meringue Cookies in an airtight container.
