Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

1Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda (½ teaspoon).

3In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar (½ cup), brown sugar, salt (1 teaspoon), and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.

4Add the eggs (2 large) one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

5Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

6Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the dough.

7Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

8Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.

9Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
