Homemade Hot Dog Buns

1In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk (1 cup), sugar (¼ cup), and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

2Add the melted butter (¼ cup), egg (1), and salt (½ tsp) to the yeast mixture and mix well.

3Gradually add the flour to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.

5Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size.

6Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into a hot dog bun shape.

7Place the shaped buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover with a cloth, and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.

8Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

9Bake the hot dog buns in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

10Let the buns cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving with your favorite hot dog fillings.
