Double Chocolate Cookies

1Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder (¼ cup), baking soda (¼ teaspoon), and salt (¼ teaspoon).

3In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar (¼ cup), and brown sugar (¼ cup) until light and fluffy.

4Add the vanilla extract (½ teaspoon) and egg (1 large) to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.

5Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

6Fold in the chocolate chips (¼ cup) and chopped walnuts (¼ cup).

7Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.

8Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.

9Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
