Savory Pasta with Tomato and Ground Beef

1Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2In a large skillet, heat the olive oil (2 tablespoons) over medium heat. Add the chopped onion (1) and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

3Add the minced garlic (2 cloves) and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

4Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef (300 g) to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

5Stir in the diced tomatoes (with their juice), tomato paste (1 tablespoon), oregano, basil, sugar (1 teaspoon), salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

6Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine, ensuring the pasta is well coated with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.

7Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
