Ultimate Garlic Mashed Potatoes

1Peel the potatoes and cut them into evenly sized chunks, about 1-2 inches in size.

2Place the potato chunks in a large pot and cover them with cold water. Add a pinch of salt to the water.

3Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

4While the potatoes are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic (4 cloves) and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic (4 cloves).

5Once the potatoes are cooked, drain them in a colander and return them to the pot.

6Add the melted garlic (4 cloves) butter to the potatoes, along with the heavy cream (½ cup). Mash the potatoes using a potato masher or a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.

7Season the mashed potatoes with salt and black pepper to taste. If desired, fold in the chopped chives for added flavor and color.

8Serve the garlic (4 cloves) mashed potatoes warm, garnished with additional chives if desired.
