Delicious Apple Crisp with Oat Topping

1Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples with 1/2 cup of brown sugar (1 cup), 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt (¼ teaspoon). Toss until the apples are well coated. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

3In another bowl, mix together the rolled oats (1 cup), remaining 1/2 cup of brown sugar (1 cup), flour, nutmeg (½ teaspoon), and melted butter. Stir in the vanilla extract (1 teaspoon) until the mixture is crumbly and well combined.

4Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples in the baking dish.

5Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.

6Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
