Heavenly 9-Layer Lasagna

1.Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2.In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.

3.Add the ground beef and Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.

4.Stir in the marinara sauce, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

5.In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

6.Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

7.In a large baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top.

8.Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of meat sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. Repeat this layering process until you have 9 layers, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and a generous topping of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

9.Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

10.Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious 9-layer lasagna!
