Cheesy Minced Meat and Potato Bake

1Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter (4 tablespoons) over medium heat. Add the minced garlic (4 cloves) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

3Add the minced meat (1 pound) to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to break up the meat.

4Once the meat is cooked, add the diced tomatoes (2 cups) to the skillet and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the tomatoes (2 cups) soften. Remove from heat.

5In a separate bowl, beat the eggs (2 large) and mix in the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter (4 tablespoons). Season with salt and pepper.

6In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes (4 medium) at the bottom. Spread half of the meat and tomato mixture over the potatoes (4 medium), then sprinkle half of the grated cheese (1 cup) on top.

7Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes (4 medium), meat mixture, and finish with the remaining cheese (1 cup) on top.

8Pour the beaten egg mixture evenly over the entire dish, ensuring it seeps through the layers.

9Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
