Crispy Onion Mayonnaise Ketchup Fritters

1In a mixing bowl, combine the maida (all-purpose flour) (1 cup), baking powder (½ teaspoon), red chili powder (½ teaspoon), garlic powder (½ teaspoon), and salt. Mix well to combine all the dry ingredients.

2Add the finely chopped onion (1 large) to the dry mixture and stir until the onion (1 large) is well coated with the flour mixture.

3In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise (½ cup) and ketchup (¼ cup) together until smooth. Reserve a small amount for serving later.

4Gradually add the mayonnaise (½ cup)-ketchup (¼ cup) mixture to the onion (1 large)-flour mixture, stirring until a thick batter forms. Ensure that all the onions are well coated.

5Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.

6Fry the fritters until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

7Serve the crispy onion (1 large) mayonnaise (½ cup) ketchup (¼ cup) fritters hot with the reserved mayonnaise (½ cup)-ketchup (¼ cup) dip.
