Crispy Fried Chicken with Zesty Buttermilk Dressing

1In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk (4 cups), hot sauce (1 tablespoon), garlic powder (1 teaspoon), onion powder (1 teaspoon), smoked paprika (1 teaspoon), salt (1 teaspoon), black pepper (½ teaspoon), and cayenne pepper (½ teaspoon). Mix well to create a marinade.

2Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

3In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise (1 cup), Dijon mustard (1 tablespoon), lemon juice (1 tablespoon), and chopped parsley until smooth. This will be your zesty dressing.

4Once the chicken has marinated, remove it from the buttermilk (4 cups) mixture and let any excess drip off.
