Cheesy Refried Bean Casserole

1Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2In a mixing bowl, combine the refried beans (2 cups), milk (1 cup), garlic powder (½ teaspoon), onion powder (½ teaspoon), cumin (¼ teaspoon), chili powder (¼ teaspoon), black pepper (¼ teaspoon), and salt (¼ teaspoon). Mix until smooth and well combined.

3Spread the refried bean mixture evenly in the bottom of a greased 9x9 inch baking dish.

4Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the refried bean layer.

5If using, add the diced tomatoes evenly over the cheese layer.

6Top with the remaining shredded cheese, spreading it evenly over the casserole.

7Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

8After 20 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

9Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

10Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
