Perfectly Fluffy White Rice

1.Rinse the rice under cold water in a fine-mesh strainer until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

2.In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, butter, and salt.

3.Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

4.Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 18-20 minutes without lifting the lid.

5.After the cooking time, remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes to allow the rice to steam.

6.Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving.
