Woodland Delight Buns

1.In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.

2.In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

3.Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4.If using wood chips, soak them in water for 30 minutes, then drain. Add the soaked wood chips to the dough and knead until evenly distributed.

5.Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

6.Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

7.Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into equal portions (about 12). Shape each portion into a bun and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

8.Cover the buns with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

9.Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

10.Remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
