Spicy Potato Bread Rolls

1.In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and red chili powder. Mix well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.

2.Add the mashed potatoes and butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3.Gradually add warm water to the mixture, kneading until a soft and pliable dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour as needed.

4.Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes to allow it to rise slightly.

5.After resting, divide the dough into equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.

6.Flatten each ball into a disc and place a small amount of chopped cilantro in the center (if using). Fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a roll.

7.Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the rolls to the oil, a few at a time, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.

8.Fry the rolls until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

9.Serve the spicy potato bread rolls hot with your favorite dipping sauce or chutney.
