Crispy Fried Flies with Spicy Dip

1.In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a seasoned flour mixture.

2.In another bowl, pour the buttermilk. Dip the edible flies into the buttermilk, ensuring they are fully coated.

3.Next, take the buttermilk-coated flies and dredge them in the seasoned flour mixture, making sure they are evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.

4.In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5.Carefully add the coated flies to the hot oil in batches, frying them for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

6.In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, lime juice, and honey to create the spicy dip. Adjust the spice level to your preference by adding more sriracha if desired.

7.Serve the crispy fried flies hot with the spicy dip on the side.
