Crispy Idli Onion Patty Burger

1.In a mixing bowl, combine the idli batter, finely chopped onion, turmeric powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, chopped coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.

2.Add rice flour to the mixture to help bind the ingredients and give the patties a crispy texture. Mix until smooth.

3.Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. While the oil is heating, shape the idli mixture into round patties, about the size of the burger buns.

4.Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the pan. Fry them until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

5.Toast the burger buns lightly on a separate pan or in a toaster until golden brown.

6.Assemble the burger by placing a crispy idli patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with sautéed onions, lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, and cucumbers. Cover with the top half of the bun.

7.Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce or chutney.
