Festive Holiday Apple Juice

1.Wash the apples thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or wax.

2.Core and chop the apples into quarters, leaving the skin on for added flavor and nutrients.

3.In a large pot, add the chopped apples and enough water to cover them (about 4 cups).

4.Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the apples are soft and mushy.

5.Once the apples are cooked, remove the pot from heat and let it cool slightly.

6.Using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, strain the apple mixture into a large bowl or pitcher, pressing down on the solids to extract as much juice as possible.

7.Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the apple juice to enhance the flavor and prevent oxidation.

8.If desired, stir in honey for sweetness and cinnamon for a warm, festive flavor.

9.Chill the apple juice in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

10.Serve the chilled apple juice over ice cubes for a refreshing drink.
