Creamy Custard Delight with a Touch of Vanilla

2In a separate bowl, mix the custard powder (½ cup), sugar, and salt (¼ teaspoon) together until well combined.

3Once the milk is warm, gradually whisk in the custard powder (½ cup) mixture until fully dissolved and smooth.

4Continue to cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and begins to bubble, about 5-7 minutes.

5Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract (1 teaspoon) and butter until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.

6Pour the custard into individual serving dishes or a large bowl and let it cool to room temperature.

7Once cooled, cover the custard with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set properly.

8Serve chilled, optionally garnished with fresh fruit or a sprinkle of nutmeg.
