Combine the sugar and the pepper on a plate.
Slice the bacon in half and dredge each piece into the seasoned sugar.
Place on a dehydrator rack.
Keep in the dehydrator for 18 hours, rotating the two racks after 9 hours.
The jerky should be eaten within a few days and kept refrigerated.
