Sawdust Surprise Cookies

1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well until all dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

3.In another bowl, cream together the softened vegan butter, almond milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.

4.Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

5.Fold in the freeze-dried coconut flakes, chopped nuts, vegan chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and sawdust until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

6.Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie as they will spread while baking.

7.Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

8.Once cooled, decorate the cookies with basil frosting, adding a whimsical touch to each cookie.
