1.Mix raisins, currants, almonds, lemon peel, and orange peel with salt, sugar, and spices. Add flour (reserving 2 tablespoons for dusting) to a large bowl and mix with the spice mixture. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Crumble the yeast into a cup, stir with milk and 1 tablespoon of sugar, and pour into the well. Cover and let stand for about 1 hour.

2.Add the rest of the flour, butter, and milk to the yeast mixture and mix with a spoon. Knead the dough thoroughly by hand or with a mixer, adding more milk if necessary. Cover and let stand for about 1-2 hours.

3.Sift powdered sugar and mix with marzipan, then roll into a log the length of the stollen.

4.Knead the dough again, roll out to a thick rectangle, place the marzipan log on one side, and fold the dough over. Shape the stollen and place on a baking sheet. Cover and let rise for about 1-2 hours.

5.Bake at 180°C (356°F) for about 60-70 minutes.

6.Brush the hot stollen with melted butter, especially the sides, and sprinkle with sugar. Finally, dust generously with powdered sugar.
