Savory Oregano Tomato Spaghetti

1.Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.

2.In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

3.Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir to combine. Add the dried oregano, red pepper flakes, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4.If the sauce becomes too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

5.Once the sauce is ready, add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.

6.Serve the spaghetti hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese.
