Savory Cheddar and Mayo Meltdown

1.In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise with garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined. Set aside.

2.Spread 1 tablespoon of the mayo mixture on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.

3.Place 2 slices of cheddar cheese on the mayo-coated side of 2 slices of bread, then top with the other 2 slices of bread, mayo side down, to form two sandwiches.

4.In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add one sandwich to the skillet.

5.Cook the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt. Carefully flip the sandwich and add another tablespoon of butter to the skillet.

6.Cook the second side for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is fully melted. Remove the sandwich from the skillet and repeat the process with the second sandwich.

7.Once both sandwiches are done, allow them to cool for a minute before slicing them in half. Serve warm.
