Warm Honey Soy Glaze

1In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch (1 teaspoon) with water (1 tablespoon) until fully dissolved to create a slurry.

2In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey (⅓ cup), soy sauce (¼ cup), grated ginger, minced garlic (1 clove), rice vinegar (1 teaspoon), toasted sesame oil (1 teaspoon), and chili flakes (½ teaspoon) if using.

3Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer while stirring frequently to prevent burning.

4Once simmering, slowly whisk in the cornstarch (1 teaspoon) slurry to the sauce.

5Continue to cook and stir for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens to a glaze consistency.

6Remove from heat and let the glaze cool slightly; it will thicken further as it cools.

7Transfer the warm honey (⅓ cup) soy glaze to a serving bowl.

8Garnish with chopped green onions (1 tablespoon) and toasted sesame seeds (1 teaspoon) before serving.

9Serve warm as a dipping sauce for dumplings, spring rolls, or grilled chicken.
