Gourmet Truffle Burger

1In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with black truffle oil (1 tbsp), minced shallot (1 small), chopped chives, and parsley. Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overworking the meat to keep it tender.

2Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4 inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

3Preheat a grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Brush the brioche buns lightly with softened butter and toast them on the grill or in a pan until golden brown. Set aside.

4Place the patties on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust time to your preferred doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Gruyère cheese on each patty and cover to melt the cheese.

5While the patties cook, mix mayonnaise (1 tbsp) and Dijon mustard (1 tsp) in a small bowl to create a truffle burger sauce.

6To assemble, spread a generous layer of the truffle sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer with butter lettuce, the truffle-infused beef patty with melted Gruyère, a slice of heirloom tomato, and arugula leaves (1 cup).

7Top with the other half of the bun. Optionally, garnish with shaved black truffle (1 tbsp) or a light sprinkle of truffle zest for an extra luxurious touch.

8Serve immediately with your choice of side, such as crispy fries or a fresh salad.
